GREEN TREE GOLF COURSE

Finding a unique course in New Jersey? Visit Green Tree Golf Course, home of the one of the only Par 6 course in the Northeast. Its layout is similar with other courses with bunkers, water hazards, tree-lined fairways and manicured greens. But the Rye grass fairways here are tight creating a challenging course for the novice golfers as well as the experienced. This 18-hole course is par 72 with a slope rating of 109 and a course rating of 66.1.

Hole No. 3 is the only par 6 hole in the Northeast with a wide green open in the front. However, the right, left and back portion of the green is protected by bunkers. The tee shot is 275 yards measuring the distance from the creek flowing two-thirds of the fairway from the left. Take your time thinking which club you must use to conquer this hole. The club you can choose includes the fairway wood, long iron and the hybrid. This will decide if the three or four shots are needed in the greens.

For many players, hole No. 5 is drivable. The green slopes back to front where a large Bern guards across the front. There are no bunkers in this hole but water hazard is present. The next hole is also drivable for some golfers. Hole No. 6 has a pond guarding the right front of the green. Golfers must take a lay-up short right of the green before making an easy pitch in this dogleg left hole.

A golf game is definitely much better with a challenge. Hole No. 8 will test any golfer whether they are ready or not for hole No. 14. No. 8 is a mid-length par 4 hole featuring a blind and slightly uphill tee shot.

The most challenging course is hole No. 14 as the fairway slopes toward the creek which is located entirely in its right side. A long tee shot is required to make sure that the fairway is approached safely. Take note of the two large Oaks and water hazard that guard the green.

Green Tree Golf Course also offers a driving range, snack bar, golf shop and practice putting/chipping green. Lessons and junior clinics are also available for interested golfer who wants to improve their skills.
