STORYBOOK LAND
Storybook Land is one of the most child-friendly theme parks outside Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is a place especially made for children as conceptualized by the couple John Fricano Jr. and Esther Fricano. It started its humble beginning when John bought five acres of wooded land and a main thoroughfare at Black Horse Pike and Jersey Shore, respectively. On the other hand, his supportive wife did the sewing of the curtains as well as the decoration of the small feaztures John built. Today, the lot expanded to more than 20 acres with 15 rides spread all over the place.
As the theme park reached its golden year and still counting, it has able to maintain its classic charm to the children of this generation. Inspired by the timeless stories and nursery rhymes, the little guests can walk through the life of their favorite character and the places they live.
The theme park facade resembles a white castle as describe in traditional nursery rhymes. At the entrance is a large statue of Mother Goose which welcomes the guests. Popular houses of classic children story are found in the park such as Little Red Riding Hood, Little Miss Muffet, Alice in Wonderland, The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe, The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and many more. There are no walking characters around the park but there are life size characters which come to life with a push of a button and enact a scene from their story. During the Christmas season, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are both present in the Santa Claus house and allowed children to have a pose with them.
Kids will be more thrilled with the exciting rides Storybook Land offers. They can definitely experience the speed and drops of the rides and still leaves them a feeling to want it more. Bubbles the coaster has a speed customized for the little ones which will still thrill them. If a child is hesitant for the ride, an adult can accompany him or her and experience the ride as well. Other famous rides are the Tilt-A-Whirl TurtleTwirl, Happy Dragon, J&J Railroad Train and the Whily Bug Ferris wheel.
